Privacy Policy

My Dog Park NZ (“My Dog Park”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the My Dog Park marketplace at mydogpark.co.nz. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information when people browse our website, create an account, list a property, make or manage a booking, communicate through the service, or otherwise interact with us.

We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles.

Depending on how you use My Dog Park, we may collect:

• Account and profile information: email address, password hash, name, phone number, profile photo, biography, account role, email-verification status, and information you choose to provide about your dogs.
• Dog information: dog names and your confirmation of vaccination and parasite-prevention status.
• Host and listing information: property address, approximate map location, listing descriptions and photos, pricing, availability, access instructions, hazards, fencing, amenities, and host rules. Exact listing addresses are not shown publicly and are disclosed to guests only when needed for a confirmed booking.
• Booking and transaction information:booking dates and times, guest notes, dog count, prices, discounts, payment and refund status, Stripe payment identifiers, and host payout-account status. Payment-card and bank-account details are collected and processed by Stripe; My Dog Park does not store complete card or bank-account numbers.
• Communications and community content:messages between guests and hosts, reviews, ratings, replies, attachments, and photos you submit.
• Calendar and integration information:calendar URLs, imported availability, and credentials or identifiers you choose to provide when connecting an external booking or calendar service.
• Technical and usage information: IP address, browser and device information, page and source URLs, session information, cookie identifiers, diagnostic events, and interactions with our website and ads.
• Marketing and conversion information:Meta browser identifiers (such as _fbp and _fbc), campaign attribution details, and events such as page views, registrations, listing creation, checkout initiation, and completed bookings. Where sent through Meta's Conversions API, email addresses, phone numbers, and internal user identifiers are cryptographically hashed before transmission; IP addresses, user agents, and Meta browser identifiers may also be included for measurement and matching.

We collect information:

• directly from you when you register, update a profile, create a listing, book, message, review, upload content, or contact us;
• automatically when you use the website, through session cookies, logs, analytics, error monitoring, and Meta Pixel;
• from payment, calendar, advertising, and other services you ask us to connect with; and
• from another marketplace user when reasonably necessary to provide or support a booking.

We use personal information to:

• create and secure accounts, verify email addresses, and authenticate sessions;
• publish and manage listings, availability, bookings, payments, payouts, refunds, messages, reviews, and customer support;
• share the information guests and hosts need to complete a booking safely, including the confirmed listing address at the appropriate stage;
• send transactional emails, reminders, verification messages, review prompts, and service notices;
• prevent fraud, misuse, overlapping bookings, and security incidents, and enforce our rules and legal rights;
• operate, troubleshoot, measure, and improve the website and marketplace;
• measure advertising, attribute conversions, build audiences, and improve marketing effectiveness; and
• comply with tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, and dispute-resolution obligations.

My Dog Park uses cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions, security, preferences, analytics, and advertising measurement. Meta Pixel may set or read Meta cookies and records page views and selected marketplace events. We also use Meta's server-side Conversions API to improve measurement and deduplicate matching browser and server events.

We use Vercel Analytics for website-performance and usage information and Sentry for error monitoring, performance traces, and limited session replay. Sentry replay is configured to mask page text, although technical and interaction information may still be recorded when the service is enabled.

You can restrict cookies through your browser settings and manage advertising preferences through your Meta account. Restricting cookies may affect sign-in or other site features.

We may disclose personal information:

• to guests and hosts where necessary to display a listing, arrange and fulfil a booking, communicate, provide access instructions, or resolve an issue;
• to service providers that help us operate My Dog Park, including Vercel, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, Sentry, Meta, Mapbox, and content-delivery or media-hosting providers;
• to an external calendar or marketplace service when you choose to connect it;
• to professional advisers, insurers, payment and fraud partners, or authorities where reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate misuse, respond to a dispute, or comply with law; and
• in connection with a genuine sale, merger, financing, or restructuring of the service, subject to appropriate confidentiality and privacy protections.

We do not sell personal information for money.

Some service providers process or store information outside New Zealand. When personal information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to use reputable providers and safeguards appropriate to the information and the requirements of the Privacy Act 2020. Overseas privacy laws may differ from New Zealand law.

Listing descriptions, approximate locations, listing and review photos, host profile information, ratings, reviews, and replies may be visible publicly. Messages, private feedback, complete payment details, and exact listing addresses are not intended to be public. Please do not put sensitive personal information in public descriptions, reviews, photos, or profile fields.

We use administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards intended to protect personal information, including authenticated access controls, password hashing, request validation, and restricted server-side credentials. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.

We retain information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purposes in this policy, to maintain security and transaction records, and to meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, and dispute obligations. Retention periods vary by data type. We may retain limited records after an account closes where required or permitted by law, while deleting or de-identifying information that is no longer needed.

You may ask for access to personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete information that we no longer need to retain. Some profile information can also be updated directly in your account.

Email support@mydogpark.co.nz with the subject Privacy request. Include the email address associated with your account and enough detail for us to identify the information. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

For deletion of data associated with Meta or Facebook, use the subject Meta data deletion request and include your My Dog Park account email plus any relevant Meta account or app-scoped identifier available to you. We will delete data obtained through Meta that we are not legally required to retain and confirm when the request has been processed.

Please contact us first at support@mydogpark.co.nz so we can try to resolve your concern. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

We may update this policy when our service, providers, or legal obligations change. We will publish the revised policy here and update the date above. We may also provide a more prominent notice where a change is significant.
